Job Openings with One in Four, Inc.

One in Four, Inc. is excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for our 2008-2009 One in Four RV Tour National Peer Educators.  Reporting to the Executive Director of One in Four, the National Peer Educators are charged with providing comprehensive rape prevention educational programming and training to audiences around the nation.  Our program, “The Men’s Program:  How to Help a Sexual Assault Survivor, What Men Can Do,” is considered the most effective rape prevention educational program ever evaluated according to the research literature, and has been presented at colleges, high schools, military bases, rape crisis centers, and conferences around the nation since 1998.  In response to requests from colleges and university women and administrators, One in Four, Inc. began offering “The Women’s Program” as a program specifically designed for women in the summer of 2007.  Like “The Men’s Program,” “The Women’s Program” is grounded in research and helps women develop the skills necessary to help survivors.

Position Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Peer Educators are broad in scope and include, but are not limited to:

Presenting the programs offered by One in Four, Inc.

Training current college students on how to present the programs offered by One in Four, Inc.

Establishing new “One in Four” chapters at college campuses in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the book The Men’s Program;

Participating in the fundraising activities of One in Four, Inc. including, but not limited to, soliciting individuals for donations, soliciting corporations and organizations for donations, participating in any event whose purpose is to raise money for One in Four, Inc.

Representing One in Four, Inc. in an official capacity at conferences, colleges, high schools, or any other location that may request the presence of the organization

Qualifications:
Successful applicants will have earned a bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education.  Applicants must be able to present to college audiences, particularly all-male audiences, as peers.  Preference will be given to those applicants demonstrating some knowledge in the area of peer education programming.

2008-2009 RV Tour Peer Educator Application

Organization Description:
One in Four, Inc. is a 501( c )3 non-profit organization founded in 1998 and is based out of Williamsburg, VA provides rape prevention educational programming to audiences around the United States.  Grounded in research, One in Four’s programming has been presented to thousands of men and women across the globe at schools, military bases, crisis centers, and conferences around the nation since 1998.  In the fall of 2004, One in Four launched the One in Four RV Tour in order to bring the most effective rape prevention educational programs available to institutions around the United States.  Since that time, the tour has made more than 175 stops and presented to thousands of men and women across the nation.  Additionally, the tour has helped to establish over 30 One in Four chapters working to end rape on our nation’s campuses.
